Terms of Service

Last updated: April 18, 2026

1. Agreement

By signing up for or using HelpBase ("the Service") you agree to these Terms. If you're using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

2. The Service

HelpBase is an AI chatbot builder. We crawl the URLs you provide, train a chatbot on that content, and host an embeddable widget for your website.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Train chatbots on content you don't have the right to use
  • Use the Service to generate spam, misinformation, harassment, or illegal content
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, attack, or circumvent rate limits of the Service
  • Resell the Service without a valid Agency plan and written permission

Violations may result in suspension or termination of your account without refund.

4. Subscription and billing

Paid plans are billed monthly in advance via Stripe. You can cancel anytime from your billing portal — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial months, but we're reasonable people: if something went wrong, email us.

If you exceed your plan's message limits, we'll email you and temporarily pause chatbot responses until you upgrade or the next billing period begins.

A 7-day free trial applies to paid plans for first-time customers. No charge during the trial. You can cancel any time before the trial ends.

5. Your content and data

You retain ownership of all content you upload or point HelpBase at. You grant us a limited license to process, store, and display it solely to operate the Service. We will never sell your content or use it to train general-purpose AI models.

6. Warranties and liability

The Service is provided "as is." We make no warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or produce factually correct chatbot responses. AI can make mistakes — you're responsible for reviewing critical outputs before relying on them.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

7. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be emailed to account holders at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the new terms.
